Keep your POS.
Get the ally.

BudAlly is the operations and intelligence layer for cannabis retail. It reads your POS and Metrc, drafts the work — invoices, reorders, prices, vendor credits, menus — and waits for your approval. Nothing runs without you.

The problem

The work gets stuck between stores and systems.

Margins are compressing for the first time on record. Your POS reports what happened. Metrc demands it match. The invoices, price checks, vendor credits and cycle counts still get done by people, at night, in spreadsheets.

27%

of US cannabis operators are profitable.

40.6% are breaking even. The most common response: cut headcount, then bring in automation.

Whitney Economics operator survey, 2025

−6.4%

First annual decline in US retail sales.

$32B in 2024 to $29.9B in 2025 — driven by price compression, not fewer customers.

MJBizDaily, July 2026

“A race against the clock, and the clock often wins.”

On monthly Metrc counts. Staff spend hours relabeling, counting and verifying — and every discrepancy means time spent hunting for the error.

How it works

One ledger. Every system. Nothing executed without a human.

  1. 01 — Connect

Plug in what you have. Read-only to start.

POS API, Dutchie Secure Data Share, a nightly CSV, or Metrc as the spine. No POS migration, no new hardware, no sticker party.

    POS APIData ShareCSVMetrc
  2. 02 — Reconcile

    Metrc, plus the money columns.

One package-level ledger keyed by license and Metrc tag. Every sale, transfer, invoice and credit lands against a tag — so every number on every screen can be traced.

  3. 03 — Draft, then approve

    Agents propose. Your team decides.

Every proposal carries its evidence, a confidence score and the rules it checked. Approve on your phone, in the queue, or not at all. There is no “approve all.”

The platform

Not just insights. The modules that act on them.

Intelligence is table stakes. BudAlly ships the menu, the loyalty engine, the manifests, the books and the people tools the recommendations land in — on top of the POS you already run.

  • RETAIL INTELLIGENCE & AUTOMATION

Invoice capture, price intel, promo ROI, vendor credits, loyalty gaps — drafted overnight.

Every draft is tied to a Metrc tag, gated by your state's rule pack, and floored at landed cost.

    • Pre-roll 5-pk−$2.48 below the market median out-the-door

market median (Headset · network k=14)your shelf

  • WHITE-LABEL MENU & APP

Your own online menu and branded app. Live stock from your POS. Your customer data, on your domain.

Orders ring in your POS so the Metrc receipt is created there. Syndicates to Weedmaps and Leafly.

  • LOYALTY & WALLET

Points that live with you, not the POS. Consent proof on every contact.

Holdout-tested campaigns, matched-cohort lift with a 95% CI, and state rules (NY inducements, CA notices) checked before a message is drafted.

    1,210 with proof → invite450 no record → counter
  • MANIFESTS & DELIVERY

Digital manifests, self-delivery dispatch and driver app — no Onfleet fee.

Accepted quantity per tag. Routes on Google Maps. State delivery rules built in.

  • SUPPLY CHAIN

Draft POs from sell-through, supplier scorecards, network availability.

Three-way match on receipt. Invoice qty = accepted Metrc qty, or a credit memo.

  • COMPLIANCE INVOICING & ACCOUNTING

Month-end close that reconciles to Metrc. Syncs to QuickBooks.

Medical vs adult-use split for post-rescheduling 280E. Wholesale tax booked in cost, never as a retail line.

  • PEOPLE — HIRING, PAYROLL, HR

Schedules against sales, labor-to-sales ratio, onboarding and badges — in the same login.

Built for an industry where half the floor turns over in a year.

  • INTEGRATION HUB & BUDALLY MCP

Every POS in. Every agent out. Bring Claude, ChatGPT or your own tools — they only ever get draft tools.

Capability manifest per adapter, data-use rules enforced at the API, and a kill switch per connector.

Overnight run

Overnight, it does the work.
In the morning, you decide.

While the store is closed, BudAlly reads the invoice inbox, checks the manifests, drafts the descriptions, runs the price checks and reads the vendor deals sheet. At 06:30 your team gets one briefing: what changed, what's waiting, what looks wrong — and a footer that always reads Drafted N · executed 0.

  • Every item cites its sources and their as-of times — Metrc, POS, licensed data, your own uploads.
  • Superseded, not silently stale. If your POS changed a price after the draft, the item can't be approved until it re-runs.
  • Rules it learns are visible and versioned — “Great Lakes bills pre-rolls per 5-pack” lives in a governance tab, not a hidden model memory.

Built for a regulated industry

The four things you get audited on. Handled before anything is drafted.

Most AI tools reach your data. Few can prove where a number came from, whether you're allowed to use a contact, or whether a promo is legal in your state.

  • Metrc truth

Every figure is tied to a package tag or a Metrc receipt. Invoice quantity equals accepted quantity, or it becomes a credit memo. Tags are never “fixed” — a mismatch holds the line.

Metrc-first ingestion · BioTrack states next

  • Consent & licensing proof

A checkbox with no timestamp is not consent. Images and copy carry a license ledger. Market data is licensed — never scraped from Weedmaps, Leafly or Dutchie menus.

    Consent ledger · source-license ledger · no-scrape rule

  • State rule gates

Versioned rule packs per state. NY inducement bans, CA financial-incentive notices, MI wholesale tax, health-claim linting — checked before a draft exists, not after. Unknown rule → a human, never a guess.

MI · CA · NY packs live · more on request

  • Human approval. Always.

Agents only draft. Every proposal carries evidence, confidence and a precondition hash; dual control on cutovers; full audit trail. Aggregates never show fewer than 8 contributors.

    No “approve all” · k ≥ 8 · role-based access

The alternatives, honestly.

Your POS vendor's AI is built to keep you on that POS. A standalone assistant tells you what to do but doesn't ship the tools to do it. BudAlly is both neutral and operational.

Questions operators ask

Straight answers.

All 22 questions →
Do I have to leave Dutchie / Treez / Flowhub?
No. BudAlly reads from your POS through its API, Secure Data Share, a nightly export, or Metrc. Sales keep ringing in your POS. If you ever switch POS, your history, consent proofs and loyalty balances come with you — because they live in BudAlly, not the register.
Will the AI change prices or send emails on its own?
Never. Agents draft into an approval queue with evidence and a confidence score. A person approves each item; there is no “approve all”. Executed actions are logged with who approved them and under whose credential they ran.
Where does the competitor pricing data come from?
Licensed market data, your own in-store price checks, and an anonymised network median with at least 8 contributors. We do not scrape Weedmaps, Leafly or Dutchie menus — it breaches their terms and we won’t put your license next to that risk.
Which states?
Rule packs ship for Michigan, California and New York first. Metrc states connect today; BioTrack states are on the roadmap. Each pack is versioned and reviewed by counsel — an unknown rule routes to a human instead of being guessed.
Who owns the data?
You do. Customer data is yours to export or delete at any time. Model providers are held to a 30-day-or-less retention rule, and nothing is pooled across operators without an explicit opt-in and k ≥ 8 aggregation.
